Creating a single round event in Live Tourney is a straightforward process that allows you to set up and manage a golf tournament with ease. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps of creating a single round event using Live Tourney's intuitive interface.
Click Single Tournament in the Dashboard Menu
To begin, log in to your Live Tourney account and navigate to the dashboard. In the dashboard menu, click on "Single Tournament" to access the single round event creation page.
Event Setup
There are 3 steps to setting up a single round event. Providing event information, adding players, and setting the pairings.
Event Information
In the first step of event creation, you will provide essential event information. Fill out the required fields, including:
- Event Name: Enter the name for your event.
- Event Date: Select the date and time of the tournament.
- Course: Choose the default tees for the event. Select the tees that most players will play from and you can always edit later if anyone is playing from a different set of tees
- 9 or 18 Holes: Select the number of holes for the tournament.
- Players per Team: Specify the number of players in each team.
- Game Format: Choose the desired game format for the event. Learn more about what game formats we support.
- Handicap Allowances: Determine the handicap allowances for the tournament. This will default to the USGA recommendations based on the game type, but you can edit however you would like.
- Side Games: Adding Gross and Net skins and deuces is easy. Check the box and the side games will be automatically calculated
Additionally, you can configure advanced options such as maximum course handicap, maximum partner handicap difference, rounding options, setting a max hole score, whether the event is a gross/net-only event, and calculating only specific or best holes on the final results.

Player Details
In the second step, you'll provide player details for the event. You have two options:
- Set Up Registration: Choose whether you want to create a registration portal for the event, allowing participants to register themselves. Learn more about Live Tourney Registration.
- Add Players: Click on "Add Players." You can add players from your roster, by GHIN number (searching through the WHS for GHIN/players), manually with name and handicap, from an existing club, or via a spreadsheet. Once the players are added, you can easily drag and drop to form teams based on the specified number of players per team, randomize ABC players, or remove all players.

- Spreadsheet Import offers the ability to add players from a spreadsheet into your event. You will be prompted to select a file to import, then Live Tourney will have you define which column headers should be mapped to our event roster metadata layer. A preview of your roster import will appear below.

Player Groupings
The final step is player groupings. Here, you'll set up pairings for the event. Start by selecting whether it's a shotgun start or tee time event. If it's a tee time event, you can set the pairing intervals. Next, decide whether you want to manually assign groupings or use the auto-assign pairings feature, which automatically creates pairings based on your chosen players per pairing.
- Manually Assign Teams
- Randomize ABC: Create groups or buckets within the event roster based on handicap spread to automatically designate 1 person from each bucket into each team.
- Snake Draft Teams: Make it so the best player plays with the worst player and so on.
